Why Join?


The CPPA is a statewide 501c8 organization and our mission is
"to enhance the profession of law enforcement and the status of the police officer in Colorado". We do not contend with other law enforcement organizations, but rather work to build relationships and to unify law enforcement so that we can enrich the significance of police officer's and public safety employees within Colorado in any way we can. We welcome any chance to work with other organizations or create ones that will, God wiling, accomplish this mission.

  • Access to the CPPA Legal Defense Fund provided through PORAC (Peace Officers Research Association of California) - offering No-Cap on covered incidents, 24/7 Live person access and assistance, and a panel of LE experienced attorney's, and three LDF coverage plan option.


  • Legislative advocacy at the state capitol on legislation that directly impacts law enforcement.


  • Discounted Home & Auto Insurance through California Casualty.


  • Access to Colonial Life/Disability Insurance - Provided through long time agents who specialize in Law Enforcement.


  • Academic scholarship for members and their children. Total amount can be up to $20,000 in a year. Application period is from July-December.


  • CPPA Body Armor Program - CPPA partners with Point Blank Body Armor to supply a vest for officers whose departments lack the funds and meet the criteria.


  • Free subscription to CPPA's quarterly newsletter, Law Enforcement Journal.


  • $500 on duty and off duty death benefit for Active and Retired members.


  • Free copy of the Pocket Guide to Colorado Criminal and Traffic Laws.  Over 300 pages that include selected statutes from titles 9, 12, 13, 16, 18, 29, and 42.

  • CPPA SHIELD Program - AMMO Inc helps out law enforcement associations by tracking our members purchases.  Twice a year they will donate a portion of our members purchases back to the CPPA. 

  • Free Notary Service at the administrative office in Colorado Springs.

  • Discounted pricing on high-quality eye wear products from Bushnell, Bolle', Millett Sights, Primos and Serengeti.


  • Fallen Officer fund for Dependents of fallen Colorado Peace Officers.
