"I originally joined the CPPA for its exceptional legal coverage. During an officer's career, there will most likely be people who're unhappy in the way we deal with them and seek to sue us. Sometimes we must respond in ways that take away a person's freedom or even life. CPPA Legal Defense Fund assists us in all these areas."
- Sgt. Felicia Low,
Colorado Springs PD
"The two greatest reasons I'm a long-standing CPPA member are the Legal Defense Fund and lobbying efforts at the state and federal level. As an officer involved in a shooting I know that value of having a qualified attorney whose only responsibility was looking out for my best interests. Having watched the CPPA lobbyists at work, I'm convinced they effectively look out for Colorado peace officers at the legislature, which allows us to better look out for our citizens."
- Officer Dave Stassen,
Grand Junction PD |
