
The Town of Lochbuie Colorado is accepting resumes for Chief of
Police. Applicant must be of good moral character & have no felony,
serious misdemeanor or domestic convictions. Candidate must be able
to pass an extensive background investigation. Must possess a valid
Colorado driver's license at time of appointment and be a United
States citizen. Applicant must hold a Bachelors Degree, Masters
Degree preferred, preferably in police science, public
administration or criminal justice administration; Ten (10) years of
progressively responsible experience in law enforcement with a
minimum of five (5) years as a supervisor. Must possess a Basic
Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate for the
State of Colorado or be able to pass Colorado P.O.S.T. test prior to
starting. Valid certificates in First Aid and CPR within sixty (60)
days from date of hire, must qualify with a firearm at a specified
police shooting range periodically.

$49,212 - $56,604
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications must be met upon
registration: be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
have completed an Associate’s degree or 60 semester hours from an
accredited college or university; be in good physical condition;
meet medical standards as established by the City of Colorado
Springs Police Department; have not been convicted of a felony; have
not been convicted of a misdemeanor crime that would affect
certification by the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training
Board.
Lateral applicants must be currently certified as a Level I Peace
Officer in Colorado as defined by CRS Section 18-1-901(3)(1)(I), or
similarly qualified as a Police Officer in another state or federal
jurisdiction, excluding the Armed Forces.
Lateral applicants must also have at least three years of
paid police officer experience as a patrol officer within the last
five years. The
Department may waive the requirement to have served as a patrol
officer in certain circumstances.
The patrol officer requirement may be satisfied by successful
performance as a federal agent in the FBI, DEA, Border Patrol, or
Secret Service.
Experienced officers that have served three years as a patrol
officer, but have subsequently been appointed or promoted to
Detective or promoted to a supervisory position, may also satisfy
the requirement.
